I have been going through my school materials to determine what I will need to get for next year. As I waded through it all, I realized that I still have my copy of Slow and Steady: Get Me Ready!

Found you through this giveaway. Will definitely be following as we are beginning our homeschooling journey!

    • Courtney, so glad you have found us! I trust you’ll find plenty to help you teach science here. Don’t forget to enjoy the journey. It has its moments, but homeschooling is one of the best decisions we made for our family. Best of luck on the giveway!

  2. My son will be three at the beginning of the next school year, and this sounds like a perfect way to help him “do school” like his big sister!

  3. Science genuinely scares me. I always dreaded science class in school. Now I have a little boy who loves learning about typical boy stuff & everything science! I’m hoping to find a science program that be easy enough for me to teach him & excite him at the same time.

  4. I’m always concerned with being well rounded in any subject. Hit all the major points but not feel I’m missing something else.

    • Shauna, I think we all worry about the “gaps”. One wise teacher once told me that there will always be gaps. You just do your best & also teach them how to learn so that they can fill in those gaps on their own. Best of luck on the giveaway!

  5. My biggest fear about teaching my 2 year old son science (or really any subject for that matter) is that I won’t find the way to teach him that he will really “get” it. He loves science and I want to be able to teach it in a way that makes him love it even more.

    • Desiree, you can teach your son! I remember being so nervous when we first started homeschooling, but my daughter continues to surprise me with how she gets it despite my shortcomings. There is so much great material out there to help you teach! Best of luck on the giveaway!

  6. Shannon Alexander says:

I’m only concerned that I am teaching them enough.

    • Shannon, for preschoolers you just need to hit the basics, everything else is just fun packaging :-). The main goal of the early years is to get them reading & understanding the basics of math. Best of luck on the giveaway!

  7. marnie perez says:

Hi Paige! I am a homeschool mom of four children. I am searching for a program for my special needs daughter, who is 7. Your program looks like it can help her succeed! I love how gentle, yet engaging your approach is! I can’t wait to start your program with my older children!

  8. I struggle with finding things my almost three year old and 8 year old can do together where they both learn.

  9. I found you through this giveaway. We are in the very early stages of beginning to homeschool and any help is great! I must say I have lots of concerns about if I will be able to teach what my son needs to know and teach him in a way he will want to learn.

  10. Chantal says:

This looks great. I have a preschooler and she would enjoy this

  11. I’m looking forward to science with my kiddo!

  12. My daughter is almost 4, so we are just getting started. It’s hard to know what curriculum to choose, or whether to use anything at all at this point.

    • Beth, welcome to the woderful world of homeschooling! I think at that age it is best to follow their cues. In other words if your daughter shows signs of frustration you may want to back off a bit; if she enjoys a little bit of school, you can try to add a bit more. Best of luck on the giveaway!

  13. Becky haverkos says:

This looks amazing. Definitely need to start doing science more with my 3 year old.

  14. Tammy Jones says:

My children are so interested in science and I really have a tenancy to shy away from experiments.

    • Tammy, I understand, but hands-on really is the best way to learn science in the early years. Nature study is a great way to bring the hands-on aspect into science without having to do regular experiments. Best of luck on the giveaway!

  15. Thanks for an awesome giveaway…these would be great resources to use with my younger kids.

  16. I’m not too worried. I love science, and I think my love will make them love it too!

  17. Mariah Kochis says:

We love science here, so I guess I’ll just leave a comment saying HI! Thanks for this opportunity!

  18. Paola Collazo says:

Found you through Jennifer Humble. I am currently reading your Most Important book. Getting ready for next year, more Living Science, more experiments. This would be great for my two preschoolers!

    • Paola, say thanks to Jennifer for me! Glad you have found us and if you have any questions as you read through the book, please don’t hesitate to send them my way :-). Best of luck on the giveaway!

  19. I look forward to being able to add more nature science into our homeschool, thanks for the giveaway!

  20. Angela C says:

This would be awesome! My two preschoolers love exploring nature and other science things.

  21. Just beginning homeschooling and we haven’t added science to our journey yet. This looks great!

  22. Found you through the link up.

  23. we love science! we are actually using your biology for grammar stage next year! excited 🙂

  24. What worries me about Science is all the hands on activities. I just hope we can keep up with the expense that might get into. Hoping that I can work on providing them the best education.

    • Nikki, so much can be done using the materials you already have in your kitchen. I’m sure you will do a great job! Best of luck on the giveaway!

  25. I love figuring Science out! I worry, I may teach incorrectly and have my daughter spout something out to someone who knows the real answer… THank goodness for internet and libraries!!!

  26. Alicia J says:

This would be perfect for our home! I have just begun to work with my son on learning his colors. So far it isn’t clicking and everything in its due time, but any new angle to approach the subject would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for the chance to win.

  27. Kathryn says:

Oh my goodness! These books are awesome! My daughter is 2 and would eat them up! Maybe literally, just kidding.

  28. We have used Slow and Steady and really enjoy some of the ideas and activities. The eBook and the science exploration supplies would be great for my 3 youngsters! Thanks!

  29. Science is hard for me so I get concerned that I’m not teaching enough of it or that I’m not helping my boys learn enough.

    • Tara, science in the early years is icing on the cake. It should be super fun as there will be plenty of time to cover the facts. Your goal is mainly to get them interested in the subject. Best of luck on the giveaway!

  30. This sounds great. I would love it as I look for fun stuff for my little one to do.

  31. Emily M. says:

This looks like a fun way to teach science.

  32. I’m so excited about this giveaway. This fall I am starting preschool with my daughter. This looks like a perfect beginning set.

  33. I have a 1 1/2 year old and would love to win this to teach him in the future! We love your elementary sciences that we use for our daughter and hope that you continue to product science curriculum and helps! 🙂 The hard part for me is fitting science in to our day, seems the basics take up so much time this year in 4th grade, math especially. However, my daughter LOVES ES Chemistry and usually chooses to do that over history when we have the choice.

    • Bev, so glad that you are having success with our older programs! We do plan on keeping up the blog and continuing to add/update our current programs. It does take longer to do school as they get older, but they begin to work more independently, so it does get easier in some ways :-). Best of luck on the giveaway!

  34. Kadonna says:

…just saying hi! 😉 This looks like a fun way to learn science with our preschool-age daughter.

  35. As a kid, I loved science! I found it fascinating, but now that I am a homeschooling mom, I just don’t know HOW to teach my child to feel the same.

  36. I am so glad that you’re a part of the Curriculum Clean Out 2014 and that I came across your site. I’ve been looking for fun ways to incorporate science into our day. I’m looking forward to reading through your posts.

    • Patricia, I’m glad you found me too :-). Please let me know if you have any questions as you dig though the site. Best of luck on the giveway!

  37. I am not familiar with your programs but really liking what I see!

  38. My four year old loves science. He frequently comes up with his own (rather messy) science experiments. I think he would really enjoy these materials and I would love to have more ideas to help my budding little scientist grow. 🙂

    • Melissa, letting him explore is a great way to foster his love of science! If you want an experiment book fo more ideas, try More Mudpies & Magnets or Science Play. Best of luck on the giveaway!

  39. Thanks for this awesome giveaway! My 4 year old loves science! I’m running out of ideas and saw the book you recommend to the lady above me. I’m definitely going to check it out. So glad I found your site through this giveaway!

  40. carol Frey says:

Science is what gets me up in the morning! It’s my passion and the great love of my older son. My greatest fear is how I’m going to balance the needs and abilities of my two boys next year. Specifically, I need help working with my preschooler (almost 4), who is his own, unique personality and is certainly not prepared to join in his older brother’s science work! I want to feed his passion without drowning it 😉

    • Carol, glad to hear you love science! It is tough to balance the needs of preschooler & older student, but we moms balance things well :-). Best of luck on the giveaway!

  41. Brianne says:

SO EXCITED! My 2 1/2 year old daughter is in this exploring/experimenting stage and I love it. Got the chance to do a “volcano” in the snow with the little one this winter (baking soda/vinegar/food coloring) and it got me excited to setup a classroom for this summer. She is 2 1/2 and SO curious – which I admire. I feel like I am rediscovering things along with her. Thanks for the opportunity. 🙂

  42. We are looking forward to science because of all of the fun experiments

  43. heather says:

This is great. I’ve just started showing my 2 yr old how you can mix primary colors to make secondary colors. She just likes the mixing!

  44. My preschooler hasn’t been wanting to “do school”, so we have backed off and I’m focusing more on polite manners and helping around the house. I think age appropriate science may be just what we need right now. Thanks for this giveaway.

    • Brandy, our son was totally drawn in by the science. Now, he asks to do a “spearmint” (that’s what he calls an experiment) instead of school :-). Best of luck on the giveaway!

  45. I taught in preschool before I got married and had babies and wouldn’t you know it I am terrible self-conscious and have so many doubts about my ability to teach my children…

    • Leann, we all have moments of “can I really do this” doubt. From the other side of preschool and teaching a child how to read, you can do this!! Best of luck on the giveaway!

  46. Michelle Nadasi says:

What worries me about science is that I wasn’t very good at it as a kid. I’m hoping I’ll learn to love it by doing more with my kids.

  47. Science is not my strong suit but I’m trying to make it hands on and fun for my kiddo.

    • Charla, hands on really is the best way to learn science, especially in the early years. It’s good that you want to provide that for your kids! Best of luck on the giveaway!

  48. My oldest will turn 3 this summer and my primary concern in general is that I don’t want to underestimate what she is capable of.

    • Jacqui, kids can surprise you with what they are capable of! It’s to try new things to see how they receive them. Best of luck on the giveaway!

  49. Science is not my strong point! Thanks for the giveaway!

  50. Jennifer says:

Probably not having the equipment for labs and such.

  51. I’ll just say hi-ya, because if there is one thing we have covered it’s elementary science! When they get older, dad can teach them even cooler stuff.

  52. I am excited and nervous about teaching science but I’m up for the challenge. Thank you for the opportunity.

  53. I don’t have many worries about teaching prek I have been already through it with 4 other children. I love it!

  54. Stephanie says:

It’s the experiments! I’m not a hands on type person but I do understand the best way to understand science is to just dig in! Thanks!

  55. Shrukar says:

    Hi Paige,
This looks like a fun way to introduce science to my 3 year old son, thank you for the opportunity.

  56. Mia Nelson says:

    Love your giveaway!

  57. wow… I hope I can get these for my kids…

  58. Heather C says:

    Awesome giveaway!!

  59. I think my biggest fear about teaching science is I have no idea where to begin, or what curricula to choose! It is a bit overwhelming. =)

Thank you for the entry and chance to win!

  60. Our science book this past year was a flop. I’m looking forward to a fresh start with a different book next year, but in the meantime, we’re using up all the science kits I seem to have collected over the years.

  61. Jennifer Vasquez says:

These days a lot worries me about teaching…so, I’ll just say hi-ya!
